So why 1,000?
We were inspired by President Bush's "Thousand Points of Lights" campaign for community volunteerism. Also, after learning that his daughter Robin died at a young age from leukemia, it seemed to be a fitting tribute to make our own goal to inspire a 1,000 people to help our cause and create a community effort to help battle cancer., By helping to fund the research behind new cancer treatments, we can all contribute to the battle.
“We can find meaning and reward by serving some higher purpose than ourselves, a shining purpose, the illumination of a Thousand Points of Light…We all have something to give." President George H. W. Bush
